Bases Loaded: The EP

released:

feb 10, 2020

- Why did you name this EP Bases Loaded?

“Well. Bases Loaded is more of a mindset. Growing up, it wasn’t easy, and as a man I knew life was only going to get tougher. I adapted this mindset at about 16 years of age, being basically homeless, I had to shelter in bando’s, friends houses, cause my lights and shit was off, and my dad was basically working for himself, so I had to do what it do. What broke me into a mindset of entrepreneurship, and doing for myself was when I applied to 20 jobs and didn’t get 1! Even the stores I knew the managers personally. That showed me people don’t owe you any loyalty. Hehe, it’s funny, but true. Being in this situation, it did something to my mind. School was the only thing I had going for me at the time, aside from just starting music. I started selling candy, chips, weed, a lil’ bit of rock, phones, watches, just anything I could get my hands on. I could say I wasn’t fond of the lifestyle I grew up around, which was basically what these cats tryna portray now, but I had no choice but to play to my strengths. After a while, the music started to pop for me. I got signed a year later, so that took my focus off of the streets a lil’ bit and onto better things; my music.”

- What sparked the title of some of these songs?

“For A Bag was sum’ my boy from England was supposed to hop on, but I put Buddha on it. Man...he the truth. I actually went to school with him, we had ENC1101 together. Not gon lie I was happy he started taking rap serious cause he smart ass jit just like me; so I know he had a story to tell.

Get Away, I wrote out of stress. At that time, being a college freshman, I just wanted to get away from everything. I felt I was living two different lives, which put me in a low depression state. I wrote the song right after me and my Ex broke up the first time back in December 2018. It took me about a hour to write, but never recorded it until the next year, after we officially broke up. It’s a fan-favorite for sure, because it’s the first time I got intimate on a track. After a while, the song really changed my perspective on a lot of things I did as a person, and explained some

of her actions during the relationship. It’s like after that point, I started seeing that the music was healing my inner trama, exposing who I really was inside, and allowing me to be more open. Ion really talk much, but the mic knew who I was before anybody.
